In Memory of Christine Hodgson BA Hons (Photo) ARPS CPAGB
It is with great sadness that we have to report the untimely passing of our friend and circle secretary of Zoom 9 Panels Circle and member of Zoom 2 Christine Hodgson. Chris died peacefully in hospital on Monday 18th August 2025, after a rapid deterioration in her health
Chris exemplified a determination to remain vibrant and positive despite challenging personal circumstances. She was cheerful, warm, bubbly and lit up a room as she approached us on her spiky heels for a hug, bringing a smile and infectious laughter to those she met.
Chris was a highly accomplished photographer. As a leading photographic judge she visited photo clubs all over Yorkshire appraising our pictures in a positive and constructive way - never unfairly or critically.

She was a natural volunteer - working tirelessly on Yorkshire Photographic Union Committees and, this April as its President.
Her photography style was inimitable; quirky, original and always surprising.
While others exhibited prints centred in the frame, she put hers in the corners or in oval or circular mounts.
She experimented with kitchen cleaning chemicals in glass dishes to photograph the resulting abstractions, she tucked herself in dark cupboards capturing spiralling light from coloured torches and devices.
She was her own voice, never an echo.
Above all, Chris was one of the rare individuals who consistently volunteered to help others.
No superficial influencer, she was an inspiration to all who met her to elevate our photography to new heights.
