In Memory of Jeffery Field. CPAGB
Who passed away on Monday 1st September
It with the greatest sadness that I have to inform you that on Monday 1st September 2025 our long-time friend, Jeffery Field CPAGB aged 92 years., passed away peacefully in his sleep. Jeff joined UPP and Circle 36 back in December1991, very nearly 34 years ago.
I have always appreciated Jeff’s entries, initially as colour slides and latterly as A4 prints. He seemed to enjoy printing, often using his software to create subtly different and striking results. He entered a wide variety of photographs, from landscapes to nature, portrait and action. He was awarded Highly Commended Certificates on five different occasions in UPP’s Gold Label Competitions, in both slides and prints.
There was much more to Jeff than that, for one thing he loved his vintage motor cycles. As a keen motorcyclist in earlier years I admired him because he was still riding them, if only occasionally, until only short time ago. Much more than that he was one of the world’s lovely people.
Jeff was one of those who was so loyal to UPP and C.36 in particular. In more recent times, as age and health began to catch up with him, more than once he made it abundantly clear to me that, whilst he could no longer travel at nights to his local club, he wanted to remain an active part of C.36, something which I am so pleased he managed to do just that until August of this year.
I for one will sadly miss him and I am sure you will all share with me in offering our sincerest sympathies to his family at this time.
